Thousands of spectators cheered on an outstanding display of pure golf at the 140th Open Championship at Royal St George’s with a pint of Pilsner Urquell in hand.
Located in the beautiful county of Kent, Royal St George’s hosted its 14th Open Championship while Pilsner Urquell remained the tournament’s Official Beer for the third year running. As the Official Beer, Pilsner Urquell shares a rich heritage, authenticity and premium nature with The Open Championship and is a truly fitting companion to the world’s original golf major.
The feedback was excellent with senior members of the R&A suggesting that the work should be held up as a benchmark to other brands sponsoring sport!
A remarkable 74,431 pints of Pilsner Urquell were served to more than 179,700 spectators over the course of the Championship, while delivering VIP hospitality to special guests in the Pilsner Urquell hospitality chalet.
The Bank shot the imagery and developed the creative look and feel that was used across all communication and branding in and around the tournament.
In 2012 The Open will return to Lancashire to be hosted by Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club. The Bank is already developing creative to make this event another truly legendary chapter in The Open’s ongoing history.
